Your Personal Faith Journey

We are all on a journey. And everyone’s journey is complex: so we start from a place that is rooted in faith, hope and love. While we are a Kelowna Christian school and we celebrate those traditions, at Willowstone Academy we are committed to supporting all faith journeys. We enjoy a long-standing partnership with First Lutheran Church and we remain grateful for their support and this relationship that we cherish. As such, we honour this space and the Christian principles of First Lutheran where all are invited, and we hold the words of Jesus as an example: 

“Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them!”

And so, we continue to work together to create a place where all faith journeys are championed, supported and honoured because, after all, our diverse spiritual traditions are an integral part of our identities. Moreover, at Willowstone we believe that an inherent beauty, goodness and holiness permeates all people and things–whatever our religious stripes–and our school is reflective of this. Our students are encouraged and supported to pursue their own journey in ways that are personally meaningful. 

And this is a journey of discovery! Because it is through our own meaning-making that this journey takes root in our lives. At Willowstone Academy, our students experience healthy and caring relationships with teachers who always champion their extraordinary potential. With authentic connection and care, teachers are guiding, coaching, and facilitating powerful learning which dovetails seamlessly into the Core Competencies of the British Columbia curriculum–and this supports the healthy and holistic development of the whole child. This is a good time to be in education.

Most importantly, we know that parents and families are the most important guides and faith teachers in any child’s life–nothing learned at Willowstone Academy will ever supersede your instructions and modelling. Rest assured, you are always your child’s primary mentor and we are honoured to serve in every way we can.
